Lilly's First Month in Facebook Posts and Pictures!

WOW - so time has really flown by - guess that's what happens when you are having fun!

Our 'Lil G' arrived on December 4, 2010 at 3:12pm and was 8lbs 10oz and 20inches! She - Lillian Grace - is absolutely beautiful and we have been so blessed!

Here's a recap pulled status updates from Facebook (as that was what I was updating..and I'll work on being better at updating the blog...) and pictures from the past two Months!

11/30/10 - 40 Week check up with Dr. Fernbach - "‎3cm dilated, so anytime now...if no baby before Sat. we will be induced at 6am Sat. morning. Praying s/he arrives earlier - I really don't want to be induced! Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes! We'll let you know when s/he arrives"

12/3/10 "...still no arrival of 'Lil G' praying that s/he decides to kick it into gear today - I really don't want to be induced tomorrow!"

12/4/10 - INDUCTION - George and I arrived at the hospital at 6am as planned. We got checked into our room, I got my IV, and the nurse checked me saying I was only 3-3.5cm. A while later Dr. Fernbach came in and checked me, saying I was like 5cm and he went ahead and broke my water after they gave me the petocin and things progressed pretty quickly. I got my epidural around 11am and our Nurse - Erin Woodworth - Checked me again and I was already 7cm. She had me lay on my left side to ensure the epidural would be even on both sides, so when I was feeling some stuff on my right side I asked George to go get her to see if I should switch over to my right side. Well, Erin came in before he had a chance to step out. She said the baby's heart rate was dropping and she wanted to make sure it was happening with my contractions - which thankfully it was! She said she wanted to check me again (even though it had only been like 15min). So, while checking me, she asked if I could 'feel that?' and I said yes...she said that's the baby's head! You are ready to push! I had gone from 7cm to 10cm in a matter of minutes!

Erin proceeded to get everything ready and called Dr. Fernbach! After she got everything ready, she said "Let's practice pushing" I guess my pushing was so effective b/c she then called Dr. Fernbach again and basically told him he'd better hurry up! She said I was doing great for a first time mom! I guess most mom's push for a couple hours and I pushed for well under an hr. I think it was under 30min! Erin assured me she had things under control, but Dr. Fernbach got there in time :)

Lillian popped out at 3:12pm and as they were holding her, trying to see 'What she was' - I was actually the first one to say "It's a Girl!!" I had the best 'angle' :)! They laid her on my chest and I wrapped my arms around her - Best feeling in the World! - I was like 'She's so tiny!!!' and Erin (our nurse) was like, 'No she's not, she's a big baby!' Ha ha - turns out she was :) - 8lbs 10oz and 20inches long! Here's some pictures from the day and a video of our family's reaction to George telling them!

We are ready for this little one to join us :)
